It's been awhile since our last "On the Hook" segment, so now we have some new half-finished projects on our needles. This also means we have newly finished projects! Check out some pieces we finally reached the tail ends of:
1. Fingerless Gloves
Another pair down, great for fall. I've enjoyed knitting these in Lion Brand's Linen and Red Heart Aran, both of which are a light enough color to show off the cable work, and are reminiscent of traditional aran styles.
2. Cable-Knit Aran Dog Sweaters
Featuring Toby, who is very enthusiastic about sweaters. Also knit with Red Heart Aran for a traditional look. This was a new pattern for me, and a new project overall, not having knit dog sweaters previously, but overall an enjoyable piece to work up!
3. "Where the Wild Things Are" Embroidery
With credit to Maurice Sendak, author and illustrator of "Where the Wild Things Are," for the basis of his work, this is otherwise an original piece. This was actually the first embroidery piece I had started, although there are two embroidered pieces I finished before this in 2016 and 2018. I started this piece in January of 2015, and have finally finished it now in October of 2018. It's been a great way to build up embroidery techniques, and I'm looking forward to doing more embroidery in future!
